OXFORD, Ohio-- Ivy Wolf scored 18 points and
Maddi Cluse added all 15 of her points after intermission as the Miami women's basketball team held off Northern Illinois 61-56 Wednesday night at Millett Hall. The RedHawks (6-7, 2-2 MAC) allowed a season-low 56 points and scored the final six points of the game to edge the Huskies (4-9, 1-4 MAC) for their second straight win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wolf had nine points in the opening period to help Miami take a series of two-point leads. However, a late Northern Illinois three-pointer gave the Huskies a 12-11 advantage after one quarter.
- Northern Illinois outscored Miami in the early stages of the second quarter, extending the lead to 27-17. Later on, Wolf and Peyton Scott followed up on the three-pointer of sophomore Katie Davidson with a field goal each to pull the RedHawks within 29-24 at intermission.
- Although Miami trailed 37-31 at the third-quarter media timeout, the RedHawks responded with seven straight points as part of an 11-2 run to retake the lead. Tajah Foster-Walker had a key offensive rebound and putback, followed by a highlight-reel blocked shot to set up Wolf's go-ahead layup. The Huskies scored as time expired to go up 43-42 heading into the final period.
- Cluse had a huge fourth quarter with 10 points in the period, hitting a three-pointer to tie the game at 52-all and then putting Miami on top for good at 57-56 on a tough runner. Edyn Battle converted two clutch free throws with 20.6 seconds left, and Miami got stops on four straight defensive possessions to hang on for a 61-56 win.

NOTES
- Cluse had a game-high and career-high five steals; as a team, the RedHawks had 17 steals, equaling their season high.
- Wolf had a career-high six rebounds and led Miami with four assists.
- Peyton Scott buried a pair of free throws in the final second to give her 10 points for the game. Scott scored in double figures for the 35th time in her last 37 games.
- Miami was a perfect 10-10 from the foul line.
