RedHawks Make it 12 Straight With 6-3 Win Over Butler

OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team extended its win streak to 12 straight on Tuesday afternoon with a 6-3 win over Butler University at the Miami Softball Complex. Seven different RedHawks picked up hits in the win.

Miami returns to action for a four-game series at Akron, beginning on Friday, April 9. Opening pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
How it Happened:
- Miami exploded for four runs in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, Kate Kobayashi brought home a run with a fly out to right field. Mackenzie Moore roped a single to right to score a pair and Morgan Lott made it 4-0 with a single to center field.
- After Butler cut the lead to 4-1 in the top of the fourth, Miami answered with a run of their own. Adriana Barlow hit one to the left-center gap, bringing around Karlee Juarez.
- The Bulldogs added two runs in the fifth, shrinking Miami's lead to 5-3.
- Karli Spaid made it 6-3 in the sixth with a blast over the left field fence.
- Taylor Rathe picked up the win for the Red and White, throwing 4.2 innings while allowing three runs. Brianna Pratt closed out the game, allowing one hit in 2.1 innings pitched.
