LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior
Courtney Vierstra and junior
Brianna Pratt combined to allow just one run in 14 innings pitched in an 11-0 win over Bradley and a 5-1 victory over DePaul on Saturday afternoon.
Allie Cummins led the way offensively, recording five hits and five RBI on the day. Miami is now 6-5 on the season.
How it Happened (Game One vs. Bradley):
- Vierstra threw a complete-game shutout and carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning to pick up the win. In all, the senior recorded nine strikeouts while allowing just one walk.
- Miami scored twice in the first as both Adriana Barlow and Lily Wilmot picked up an RBI apiece.
- The RedHawks made it 4-0 after two innings of play, following hits from Allie Cummins and and Holly Blaska
- Blaska doubled to right in the top of the fifth to plate both Karli Spaid and Morgan Lott as Miami took a commanding 7-0 lead.
- Cummins added to the scoring with a two-run blast in the seventh as Miami claimed an 11-0 victory. Cummins finished the game 3-for-4 with four RBI.
How it Happened (Game Two vs. DePaul):
- Brianna Pratt surrendered one run in the seventh, but besides that was nearly flawless. The junior posted eight strikeouts while allowing three hits in game two versus DePaul.
- Newcomer Kate Kobayashi smashed a solo shot to left center to give Miami an early 1-0 lead after two innings of play. She added her second home run of the day in the seventh inning for her first multi home run game of her career.
- The scored remained 1-0 until junior Maclai Branson hit the left-center gap in the top of the fifth to bring around Jada Dotson and Kobayashi.
- Miami added a fourth run in the sixth off the bat of Allie Cummins. The junior drove one to the wall allowing Mackenzie Moore to score.

Miami plays DePaul on Sunday, March 7 at noon and follows that up with a contest versus Louisville at 2:30 p.m.
