OXFORD, Ohio--The Miami University softball team downed Central Michigan, 7-1 on Sunday afternoon, completing a four-game sweep of the Chippewas. The win improves Miami to 16-6 overall and 8-0 in Mid-American Conference play. CMU falls to 4-13, 2-6 MAC.

How it Happened:
- Lily Wilmot scored on an error by the second baseman to make it 1-0 Miami in the second. Just a few batters later, Karli Spaid smashed a three-run homer run to left field to garner a 4-0 advantage for the Red and White.
- Kate Kobayashi tripled to right center to bring around Allie Cummins in the bottom of the fifth, and Mackenzie Moore brought home Kobayashi with an RBI groundout as the RedHawks took a commanding 6-0 lead.
- Both teams scored a run in the sixth.
- Brianna Pratt did the rest from the circle. The junior allowed just one run in six innings, striking out seven, while scattering seven hits. Senior Courtney Vierstra struck out the side in the seventh inning to close out the sweep.
