SATURDAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue what is now a four-game road stretch when Miami travels to Northern Illinois for a 6 p.m. (ET) game on Saturday, Feb. 20.
ABOUT NORTHERN ILLINOIS: The Huskies enter Saturday's contest with a 2-12 mark and a 1-8 MAC record. NIU has lost its last three, all on the road, including an 81-76 loss at Akron on Tuesday. Northern Illinois' last win was against the Zips on Jan. 12, 67-65. Tyler Cochran paces the Huskies, averaging 14.6 ppg and 8.3 rpg. Trendon Hankerson and Darius Bean are the other two Huskies averaging double figures in scoring at 12.0 and 10.5 ppg, respectively.
THE SERIES WITH THE HUSKIES: Saturday marks the 53rd meeting between Miami and Northern Illinois with the RedHawks owning a 34-18 lead in the all-time series. Miami has won the last two, both in Oxford, including a 70-58 win on Jan. 9, 2021. When playing in DeKalb, NIU is 14-10 against Miami. The Huskies' last win in the series also was its last win against the RedHawks at the NIU Convocation Center, a 70-55 win on Feb. 2, 2020. Miami's last win at NIU came on Feb. 3, 2018, 83-70.

ROAD WARRIORS: Miami is logging the miles, approximately 2,602 miles, as it rounds out its regular season. With rescheduled make-up games from earlier postponements, Miami now plays six of its last seven regular-season games on the road, including a four-game road stretch that started at Toledo on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
GRANT IS MR. EFFICIENT: Sophomore guard
Dae Dae Grant is making a case to be considered one of the MAC's most-efficient shooters. He leads the MAC in conference-only games in free-throw percentage (.931), missing just two of his 29 attempts in MAC play. Grant ranks fifth in MAC-only games in three-point field goal percentage (.478). Additionally, he ranks 24th among conference leaders in MAC games in field goal percentage (.443).
COLEMAN-LANDS RANKS 23RD NATIONALLY IN ASSIST/TURNOVER RATIO: Redshirt junior guard
Isaiah Coleman-Lands has been stingy with turnovers and currently boasts a 2.88 assist/turnover ratio with 49 assists to 17 turnovers through 16 games. He leads the MAC and ranks 23rd nationally in assist/turnover ratio.Â
REDHAWKS RANK 14TH NATIONALLY FEWEST TURNOVERS: Averaging 10.6 turnovers per game, Miami ranks second the MAC in fewest turnovers and ranks 14th nationally. Miami has committed fewer turnovers than its opponent in 10 of its 17 games and the same number in three games this season. The RedHawks have had 10 or fewer turnovers in 10 of their 17 games, including a season-low four against Mount St. Joseph on Dec. 11.
BROWN REACHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS: Senior forward
Dalonte Brown became the 37th member of Miami's 1,000 Point Club on Jan. 12, 2021. Brown enters Miami's next game with 1,124 career points and has moved up to 3oth on the list.Â
MORE ON BROWN: Dalonte Brown played in his 100th career game on Tuesday, Dec. 15 against Buffalo. He made his 100th career start against Toledo on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Entering Miami's next game, Brown has played in 112 career games and made 105 career starts.
ROARING 20s: In Miami's last three games, three different RedHawks have eclipsed 20 points in scoring with two notching career-high scoring efforts both of 24 points.Â
- Junior forward James Beck came off the bench at Buffalo on Feb. 6 and poured in a career-high 24 points off 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, connecting on a sizzling 71.4 percent of his shots. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and added eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot to his line in 25:41 of action.Â
- Junior guard Mekhi Lairy amassed a career-high 24 points against Akron on Feb. 12, tallying 12 points in each half. Lairy knocked down 8-of 14 field goals (.571) and was 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. He added three assists, three rebounds and a steal to his stat line.
- Senior forward Dalonte Brown tallied a season-best 21 points off 6-of-10 shooting from the field, including a 3-for-7 effort from three-point range at Toledo on Feb. 16. He also sunk all six free throws. He added 11 rebounds and two steals to his line.
ODDS 'N ENDS
- Senior guard Milos Jovic joined the Century Club on Jan. 30 against Western Michigan, playing in his 100th career game. Entering the RedHawks' next game, Jovic has played in 103 career games.
- The RedHawks have had balanced contributions from their starters and their bench. In its 12 MAC game, Miami is getting 32.1 percent of its scoring off the bench while averaging 73.7 ppg.
UP NEXT: Miami starts a three-game, six day stretch when the RedHawks travel to Central Michigan for a 5 p.m. game on Tuesday, Feb. 23 and then moves on to Western Michigan for a noon game on Thursday, Feb. 25. Miami returns home for a 4:30 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 27 when the RedHawks host Kent State.
