
RedHawks Return Home to Host Bellarmine at 2 p.m. Saturday

SATURDAY'S GAME: Miami returns home for the first time since Dec. 1 when the RedHawks host Bellarmine at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 in the first of a two-game home stretch over the next four days for the RedHawks.Â
ABOUT BELLARMINE: The Knights enter Saturday's game with a 5-7 record and are coming off a 78-64 loss at South Dakota on Wednesday after rattling off three wins against Defiance, Asbury and Midway. Dylan Penn averages 16.0 ppg to lead the team and also is averaging 5.0 rpg. CJ Fleming is the other Knight averaging double figures in scoring (11.1), while Juston Betz averages a team-leading 5.9 rpg. Â

THE SERIES WITH THE KNIGHTS: Saturday marks the second meeting with Bellarmine but the first between the teams in more than 50 years. The last meeting was in Oxford on Dec. 4, 1968 with the Red and White posting an 86-67 win. Â Â

BROWN BREAKS BOTH GAMES STARTED AND PLAYED CAREER RECORDS: Breaking Ron Harper's record of 118 for career starts with a start at Indiana State on Dec. 4 and Geovonie McKnight's record for career games played 126 on Dec. 14, senior forward Dalonte Brown is now the Miami career record holder in both categories. Brown's 120 career starts and 127 career games played are the new Miami records. He will be honored prior to Miami's Saturday game against Bellarmine.
CENTURY CLUB: Senior forward Precious Ayah and senior guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands became the latest members of Miami's Century Club, playing in their 100th career games against Cincinnati on Dec. 1. Each has now played in 102 career games. Senior forward Dalonte Brown is already a member of Miami's Century Club for games played (127). One other RedHawk also is closing in on joining them: senior guard Mekhi Lairy (96).

He joins senior guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands, who earned his bachelor's degree in Spring 2021, and senior forward Precious Ayah, who earned his bachelor's degree in Spring 2020 and a master's degree in Spring 2021, as the RedHawks who currently own Miami University degrees.
