SATURDAY'S GAME: Miami returns home for the first time since Dec. 1 when the RedHawks host Bellarmine at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 in the first of a two-game home stretch over the next four days for the RedHawks.

ABOUT BELLARMINE: The Knights enter Saturday's game with a 5-7 record and are coming off a 78-64 loss at South Dakota on Wednesday after rattling off three wins against Defiance, Asbury and Midway. Dylan Penn averages 16.0 ppg to lead the team and also is averaging 5.0 rpg. CJ Fleming is the other Knight averaging double figures in scoring (11.1), while Juston Betz averages a team-leading 5.9 rpg.

THE SERIES WITH THE KNIGHTS: Saturday marks the second meeting with Bellarmine but the first between the teams in more than 50 years. The last meeting was in Oxford on Dec. 4, 1968 with the Red and White posting an 86-67 win.

UP NEXT: Miami rounds out a two-game home stretch against Spalding at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

TELEVISION: Saturday's game will be aired on ESPN3. Steve Baker and Randy Hollowell will call the action.

BROWN BREAKS BOTH GAMES STARTED AND PLAYED CAREER RECORDS: Breaking Ron Harper's record of 118 for career starts with a start at Indiana State on Dec. 4 and Geovonie McKnight's record for career games played 126 on Dec. 14, senior forward Dalonte Brown is now the Miami career record holder in both categories. Brown's 120 career starts and 127 career games played are the new Miami records. He will be honored prior to Miami's Saturday game against Bellarmine.

CENTURY CLUB: Senior forward Precious Ayah and senior guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands became the latest members of Miami's Century Club, playing in their 100th career games against Cincinnati on Dec. 1. Each has now played in 102 career games. Senior forward Dalonte Brown is already a member of Miami's Century Club for games played (127). One other RedHawk also is closing in on joining them: senior guard Mekhi Lairy (96).

1,000 POINT WATCH: Entering the RedHawks' next game with 884 career points, senior guard Mekhi Lairy could become the 38th member of the 1,000 Point Club. Lairy is currently averaging 14.2 ppg and would reach the milestone in mid-January at his current pace.

THREE AMONG THE TOP SIX: A big reason the RedHawks lead the MAC and rank 14th nationally in assist/turnover ratio (1.59) is senior guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands, junior guard Dae Dae Grant and senior guard Mekhi Lairy, who rank first, second and sixth, respectively, in the MAC in the category. Coleman-Lands ranks 19th nationally (3.33), while Grant ranks 41st nationally (2.69). Lairy is at 2.00 for assist/turnover ratio.

Senior forward Dalonte Brown earned his undergraduate degree in Family Studies during Miami's commencement ceremonies on Friday, December 10. He joins senior guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands, who earned his bachelor's degree in Spring 2021, and senior forward Precious Ayah, who earned his bachelor's degree in Spring 2020 and a master's degree in Spring 2021, as the RedHawks who currently own Miami University degrees.
Miami ranks among the top three in the MAC in 14 statistical categories, leading the league in four categories: assist/turnover ratio, fewest fouls, fewest turnovers and turnovers per game.
The RedHawks rank among the top 15 nationally in four different statistical categories, including ranking third in fewest turnovers and seventh in turnovers per game.
With a 20-point effort at Clemson on Dec. 14, junior guard Dae Dae Grant notched his third 20-point scoring performance of the season. Senior guard Mekhi Lairy notched his second 20-point scoring performance of the season and has two 20-point scoring efforts with his last coming against Cincinnati on Dec. 1.
Miami has been in single digits for turnovers in six of its nine games this season and has committed fewer turnovers than its opponents in all but two games this season.
Miami returners accounted for 97.1 percent of Miami's scoring and 94.7 percent of its rebound from a season ago.
