HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team was able to find the range offensively early. Miami got out to an 8-2 lead before WKU rallied to cut it to 12-11. Tajah Foster-Walker hit the RedHawks' first three-pointer as time expired in the opening quarter to give Miami an 18-13 advantage.
- The second period was also a back-and-forth defensive struggle. Miami maintained a slight lead despite only shooting 1-13 from behind the arc for the half and went to intermission ahead 26-24.
- After the Lady Toppers took their first lead at 28-26, the RedHawks responded with a 9-2 run to go back on top, capped by a Vannessa Garrelts three-pointer. The RedHawks led 43-35 after 30 minutes of play.
- Miami enjoyed its largest lead at 48-37 after a Katie Davidson basket with 7:30 remaining. WKU answered back with eight straight points to stay close.
- Leading 50-49, the RedHawks scored six points in a row before WKU went on one last spurt to take a 58-56 lead.
- Off a sideline out-of-bounds play with 7.2 seconds to play, Scott caught the ball at the right elbow, spun, pump faked for a defender to fly by, and drained a mid-range jumper to tie the score at 58-all.
- The Lady Toppers called timeout to advance the ball to the frontcourt and set up the final sequence, ending with Mya Meredith's buzzer-beater from the left block.
