OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball led start-to-finish in an 80-62 win over Eastern Kentucky University on Sunday afternoon at Millett Hall. The win moves the RedHawks to 4-3 overall on the season, and matches last year's win total, while the Colonels fall to 3-5.
Ivy Wolf was tops on the squad with 16 points, while
Peyton Scott and
Maddi Cluse each added 13. Scott added a team-high 11 rebounds and five assists.
Edyn Battle chipped in with a career-high 11 points.
How it Happened:
- Things could not have started much better for the Red and White, racing out to 15-2 lead behind a pair of triples from Ivy Wolf. EKU answered with a 6-0 run, but a three-pointer from Scott, followed by a three-point play from Amani Freeman stretched the RedHawks' advantage to 24-12. Miami led 26-12 after 10 minutes of play.
- EKU cut the deficit to 32-21 early in the second quarter, but an impressive first-half defensive effort sent Miami to the locker room with a 39-27 advantage.
- Both teams exchanged buckets in the third and Miami led 58-48 at the end of three. Miami pushed the advantage to 68-50 following a triple from Wolf midway through the final stanza.

- Vannessa Garrelts recorded a career-high in points (9) and three-pointers made (3).
- Edyn Battle played a career-high 22 minutes.
- Ive Wolf established a new career-best with six assists.
