TUESDAY'S GAME: Miami opens the 2021-22 campaign at Georgia Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The RedHawks lift the lid on their 117th season. The game will be aired on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT GEORGIA TECH: The Yellow Jackets are coming off an ACC Tournament Championship title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2020-21 as Georgia Tech recorded a 17-9 overall record and 11-6 ACC mark. Georgia Tech returns five of its top seven scorers, including senior Michael Devoe (15.0 ppg) and senior Jordan Usher (11.6 ppg). The duo scored 23 and 16 points, respectively, in the 89-52 exhibition win against Morehouse on Oct. 31.
THE SERIES WITH THE YELLOW JACKETS: Tuesday is the first meeting between Miami and Georgia Tech.
OPENING NIGHT: Miami opens its 117th season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 when the RedHawks travel to Georgia Tech for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. Miami is 76-40 (.655) in season-openers but is 16-25 when opening the season on the road. Last season, the RedHawks downed North Dakota in the season opener at Millett Hall, 81-67. Miami's last opener on the road was in 2018-19 at Butler as the RedHawks dropped a 90-68 decision. Their last win in an opener on the road was during the 2017-18 season with a 55-54 win at Fordham.
UP NEXT: Miami returns to Millett Hall for four-straight games, beginning with a 2 p.m. contest against Lamar on Saturday, Nov. 13.

RADIO: In its third year of its partnership with Van Wagner, the Miami Sports Network continues its coverage of Miami men's basketball with a group of affiliates blanketing most of Southwest Ohio and Southeast Indiana. Tuesday's radio broadcast will be carried via WKBV 1490-AM (Richmond). Terry Bridge will call the action.Â
ROAD STREAKS: Miami rides a four-game road win streak into the 2021-22 season. MU captured a 69-64 win at Northern Illinois (Feb. 20), a 96-54 win at Central Michigan (Feb. 23), a 74-66 win at Western Michigan (Feb. 25) and an 84-79 overtime win at Bowling Green on Mar. 2 last season. It was the first time since 2008-09 Miami had won four-straight road games. The RedHawks were 5-6 in road contests last season.
VETERAN NUMBERS: Miami's 12 returners boast a great deal of experience in a Miami uniform. The dozen combine to have played in 640 Miami games, making 181 combined career starts and playing a monstrous 11,795 minutes during their time as RedHawks. Leading the way are seniors

CHART CLIMBER: Senior forward
Dalonte Brown became the 37th member of Miami's 1,000 Point Club last season and enters 2021-22 with 1,129 points to rank 23rd all time. He is one point away from moving into 20th on the list and 14 from the No. 19 total of 1,243. Brown also needs to play in just two more games to crack Miami's career top-10 list and is eight appearances away from tying the all-time record of 126. He also has made 111 starts to rank seventh all-time and is seven away from Ron Harper's record of 118 career starts.
1,000 POINT WATCH: Entering the season with 756 career points, senior guard
Mekhi Lairy could become the 38th member of the 1,000 Point Club. Lairy, who averaged 12.8 points during his junior campaign would need to average 7.9 ppg to hit the mark by the end of the regular season.
GRANT NAMED PRESEASON ALL-MAC: Coming off a season where he was selected to the All-MAC Third Team, junior guard
Dae Dae Grant was selected as a Preseason Second-Team All-MAC honoree in 2021-22.
