ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball hosts Northern Kentucky in its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m.
JUST WIN BABY: A win over NKU would move the RedHawks to 3-1 on the young season, something Miami has not accomplished since the 19-20 squad opened the year 4-1.
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION: Miami's offense has improved dramatically from a year ago. The RedHawks are averaging 10.4+ points, they are shooting .465 this year (.400 a year ago) and are out-rebounding its opponents by 18.0 per game (1.9 a year ago).
REDHAWKS PICK UP ROAD WIN AT XAVIER: Miami used an 11-0 run in the final two minutes to secure a 77-73 win at Xavier University on last Wednesday evening. Trailing 71-66, Peyton Scott scored seven of her game-high 28 points down the stretch and Jordan Tuff came through with a clutch three-pointer as the RedHawks stormed back to stun Xavier. Scott and Tuff (12 points) were the lone RedHawks in double figures, while Scott chipped in with seven rebounds and five assists. Jada Duckett had a team-high nine boards. Miami connected on 13-of-26 three pointers, outscoring Xavier by 36 points behind the arc. MU also outrebounded the Musketeers 39-24 in the win.
FROM WAY DOWNTOWN: As mentioned earlier, the RedHawks drilled 13 three pointers in the win over Xavier, three shy of the school record. Coming into the contest, the RedHawks had made just eight triples combined in its first two games.
GET THE WINDEX: Through three games, the RedHawks have one of the best rebounding teams in the country. Despite playing teams from the Big Ten and Big East, the RedHawks have outrebounded its opponents, 130-76, a margin of 18.0 per game. Miami had 20 offensive rebounds in the win over Valpo and 17 and 18 offensive boards at Illinois and Xavier. Miami's 18.0 rebounding margin per game ranks 22nd in the nation and its 55 offensive rebounds is 29th.
BALANCING ACT: While Peyton Scott (22.7) and Ivy Wolf (14.0) are getting a majority of the offensive attention, Miami has a total of eight players averaging at least 5.0 points per game this season. Last year, just four RedHawks averaged over 5.0 points per game.
ABOUT NKU: The Norse are 2-2 on the year with wins over Eastern Kentucky and Green Bay. Lindsay Duvall leads the way at 20.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while Grayson Rose is tops on the team with 10.3 boards per contest.
SERIES WITH THE NORSE: Wednesday will be the 15th meeting between the two programs that dates back to 1975. While the overall series is tied at 7-7, Miami has won five of the last six meetings, including a 60-50 victory back in Nov. of 2016.
WITH A CAPITAL P: Known as "P" amongst her teammates, junior guard Peyton Scott has accomplished more than most through two years of play.
• Has scored 952 points and is just 48 points away from becoming the 27th RedHawk to surpass 1,000 points in their career.
• Last season alone, she scored 30-plus points in five different games, including 39 versus Ball State, a new Millett Hall record.
• She had a stretch last season from Feb. 3-Feb. 13 in which she scored 30-plus points in four straight games, the first RedHawk in school history to accomplish such a feat.
HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF: Through three contests, freshman Ivy Wolf is averaging 14.0 points per game. She had one of the best collegiate debuts in Miami women's basketball history, scoring 23 points at Valpo. When compared to other Miami greats, Wolf is near the top.

Ivy Wolf - 23 points at Valpo
Courtney Osborn - 16 points vs. Bucknell
Amanda Jackson - 16 points at Michigan
Peyton Scott - 15 at DePaul
