OXFORD, Ohio—In the very first match of a triple-home-match week, the Miami University volleyball team (3-16; 1-8 Mid-American Conference) lost to Bowling Green State University (13-6; 9-0 MAC) on Wednesday evening in Millett Hall, 12-25, 15-25, 17-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the build-up to reach double-digits during the first set, the RedHawks received a confidence boost with two kills apiece from Maggie McCrary and Gaby Harper, helping Miami close the gap to 9-12. The Falcons outscored the RedHawks over the remainder of the set.
- Halfway through the second set, the RedHawks found momentum with a three-point run, spearheaded by a kill from Sophie Riemersma and a block by McCrary and Lindsay Taylor, to narrow the deficit to 9-14. The Falcons pushed ahead and won the set, 25-15.
- Despite trailing by seven points in the early stages of the third set, the RedHawks proved resilient as they inched closer to the Falcons, bringing the score to 13-17. The Falcons proceeded to win the third set, 25-17.
