SATURDAY'S GAME: The RedHawks play their fourth home game in five outings when Miami hosts Western Michigan for a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 30. Saturday's game is part of the annual NABC Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week. Coaches and their staffs across the nation wear sneakers as part of their gameday attire to raise awareness. The RedHawk coaching staff will take part in this initiative on Saturday, Jan. 30.
ABOUT WESTERN MICHIGAN: The Broncos enter Saturday's game with a 2-10 record and a 1-6 MAC mark. WMU has dropped its last six games, including an 81-58 decision at Ohio on Tuesday, Jan. 26. B.Artis White paces the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 ppg, while Greg Lee follows at 11.3 ppg and a team-leading 7.1 rpg. Lee ranks third in the MAC in conference-only games in defensive rebounds (5.86).Â
THE SERIES WITH THE BRONCOS: Saturday marks the 133rd meeting between Miami and Western Michigan with the RedHawks owning an 82-50 lead in the all-time series. The Broncos have won the last six meetings between the teams, including a 64-60 win in Oxford on Feb. 4, 2020 in the lone meeting between the teams last season. Miami's last win in the series was at University Arena, a 45-44 triumph on Feb. 9, 2016. The RedHawks' last home win against the Broncos was on Feb. 14, 2009, 64-46. When playing in Oxford, Miami is 51-12 against WMU.

It is the first time since January 1990 that MU has strung together four-straight games scoring 80 or more points when Miami scored 87 at Ohio (Jan. 3, 1990), 83 against Central Michigan (Jan. 6, 1990), 96 at Bowling Green (Jan. 10, 1990) and 94 against Eastern Michigan (Jan. 13, 1990).Â

Isaiah Coleman-Lands has been stingy with turnovers and currently boasts a 3.70 assist/turnover ratio with 37 assists to 10 turnovers through 12 games. He leads the MAC and ranks 13th nationally in assist/turnover ratio.Â
REDHAWKS LEAD MAC IN FEWEST TURNOVERS: Averaging 10.3 turnovers per game, Miami leads the MAC in fewest turnovers and ranks 14th nationally. Miami has committed fewer turnovers than its opponent in nine of its 12 games and the same number in one game this season.Â
GRANT TABBED MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sophomore guard
Dae Dae Grant averaged 21.3 ppg, while shooting a sizzling 57.9 percent from the field and a scorching 63.2 percent from 3-point range and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line as Miami rattled off three wins in five days to earn MAC Player of the Week honors. Grant set career highs for points (28), field goals (10) and triples (6) against Eastern Michigan that he set in the previous game (27 pts, 9 fg, 5 3-pt fg) against Bowling Green. Grant, who knocked down 12 treys on the week, also was named MAC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and the Lou Henson National Player of the Week by CollegeInsider.com.
BROWN REACHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS: Senior forward
Dalonte Brown became the 37th member of Miami's 1,000 Point Club on Jan. 12, 2021. Brown enters Miami's next game with 1,069 career points and has moved up to 36th on the list.Â
NOTABLE NUMBERS: Miami has put together several notable numbers recently.
- Miami shot a season-best 58.7 percent from the floor for the game and was 64.5 percent from the field in the second half vs. BGSU.
- The 96 points by Miami against BGSU were its most since a 119-52 win against Wilberforce on Dec. 30, 2019, and the most against a Division I opponent since a 100-94 double-overtime win at Central Michigan on Jan. 5, 2002.Â
- Miami's 42 first-half points at Eastern Michigan were its most in an opening half this season, while its 55 points in the second half against BGSU were its most in a half in 2020-21.
