HUNTINGTON, W.V. - The Miami University tennis team fell by a scoreline of 6-1 to Marshall on Sunday to wrap up its weekend in West Virginia.
Miami drops to 4-6 on the season with the defeat.
The RedHawks did pick up a win in doubles courtesy of
Laura Rico and
Milana Lysova, who took down Marshall's top duo by a score of 6-2. However, this would not be enough for the 'Hawks to take the point as Marshall won the deciding match on court two.
Moving in to singles, Miami would earn a point from
Makenzie Myers, who used a 6-0 third set to win on court four. After the Herd had one on court two, this lowered Miami's deficit to 2-1. Unfortunately for Miami, Marshall would go on to win the other four matches and take the contest by a score of 6-1.
Miami will be back in action next weekend for its non-conference finale at Indiana.
