Women Fourth After Day Two of MAC Championships

Camila Lins de Mello tied the school record in the 200 IM to highlight the day for the RedHawks.
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Miami University women's swimming and diving team is fourth with 143 points after the second day of competition at the 2020 Mid-American Conference Championships.
Camila Lins de Mello tied her school record in the 200 IM (1:58.31), finishing second overall. Lins de Mello set the school record last season at the MAC Championships. Hannah Fuchs finished seventh (2:03.58) and Anna Martin finished 12th (2:03.72). Martin's time was her season best.
In the 500 free, Claire Doerr finished eighth (4:53.47), dropping more than two seconds from her time in the prelims.
Anna Justinak won the consolation finals of the 50 free (23.25), swimming a season-best time and tying for the ninth-fastest time in program history.
The RedHawks wrapped up the day with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:33.26). Lins de Mello, Justinak, Izzy Herb and Caroline Ehlers swam the relay.
In the diving well, Maddie Folta finished eighth in the consolation finals for the 1-mtr dive, scoring 207.81.
On Friday, the swimmers will compete in the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast and the 100 back with prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals starting at 6:30 p.m. Diving prelims for the 3-mtr dive will take place at 12:30 p.m. Finals for the swimming events, 400 medley relay and the 3-mtr dive consolations will all be completed in the evening session.
