DEKALB, Ill. - After an unexpected week off, the Miami University men's basketball team is ready to return to action with a trip to Northern Illinois on Saturday. Tip time is at 4 p.m. (EST) and it will air live nationally on CBS Sports Network. An audio broadcast will be available on the Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner.

CONSISTENCY COMES FROM GRANT: Freshman guard Dae Dae Grant scored 13 points in the RedHawks' 73-68 victory over Eastern Michigan on last Saturday. He is quickly turning into one of the team's most consistent players as it was his eighth straight game scoring in double figures. In all of those games he finished with between 11 and 16 points. Grant is now Miami's third leading scorer at 9.5 points per game, and ranks third on the team with 2.0 assists per contest. In Mid-American Conference play, he is second at 12.0 points per game and second at 2.7 assists per contest.

BIG GAME FROM COLEMAN-LANDS: Redshirt sophomore guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands had a season-high 16 points off the bench in the win over the Eagles. He was 6-for-10 from the field, including 4-for-8 from behind the arc. It was Coleman-Lands' eighth double figure scoring night of the season. He ranks fifth on the team at 7.8 points per game. He is fourth on the RedHawks in MAC scoring, averaging 9.6 points per contest in league games.

ABOUT NORTHERN ILLINOIS: The Huskies are 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the MAC. They are coming off a dramatic 61-59 victory over Ohio on Tuesday in which Noah McCarty hit the game-winning layup with only 18 seconds to go. Northern Illinois' success is predicated on its defense. It only allows its opponents an average of 64.3 points per game. Teams are only shooting .395 against the Huskies, and only .297 from behind the arc. NIU leads the MAC in both categories. The offense revolved around senior guard Eugene German. He leads the MAC with an average of 19.5 points per game.

THE SERIES WITH NORTHERN ILLINOIS: Miami leads the all-time series with Northern Illinois, 32-17. The Huskies won the only meeting between the teams last season, 83-70, on Jan. 8, 2019 in Oxford. The RedHawks had four finish in double figures, but could not overcome a 57.7 percent shooting night from NIU. Nike Sibande led Miami with 16 points.

UP AHEAD: Miami returns home next Tuesday as it welcomes Western Michigan to Millett Hall. Tip time is at 7 p.m. and it will air live on ESPN+. An audio broadcast will be available on the Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner.
