Morgan Zerkle Signs Contract with Chicago Bandits

The assistant coach will play for the Chicago Bandits for the 2020 season.
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Miami assistant coach Morgan Zerkle signed a one-year deal to play with the Chicago Bandits for the 2020 season. She will continue to serve as a coach for the RedHawks this spring.
"It is an awesome opportunity to become a Bandit and continue my professional softball career in Chicago," Zerkle said. "I am excited for an incredible summer working with great coaches and teammates!"
Zerkle is in her first year at Miami, coming to Oxford after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at Indiana. She helped the Hoosiers combine for a 62-51 overall record and a 27-19 record in conference games during her tenure alongside her collegiate head coach, Shonda Stanton.
Prior to her time at Indiana, Zerkle was a four-year letterwinner at Marshall under Stanton. While at Marshall, Zerkle was a four-time All-Conference and three-time NFCA All-Region selection. She capped off an impressive four-year career with NFCA All-American and Senior CLASS All-American selections. Zerkle was a two-time USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finalist, two-time Spirit of Service award winner and a two-time Marshall Female Athlete of the Year.
Zerkle has also represented the Red, White and Blue as a member of Team USA, having played in the 2017 World Cup of Softball, 2017 Japan Cup and 2016 World Cup of Softball. Team USA medaled in both the 2017 World Cup and 2017 Japan Cup. She previously played professionally for three seasons as a member of Scrap Yard Fast Pitch. In 2017, Scrap Yard won the NPF Championship and coveted Cowles Cup.
