WAYNE EMBRY RETURNS: Saturday has been designated Wayne Embry Day as the Miami and Naismith Hall-of-Famer will be in attendance for several on-court ceremonies.

Embry was a 1958 graduate from Miami who still ranks 12th all-time in scoring with 1,401 points and second in rebounds with 1,117 boards. He was elected to the Miami Hall of Fame in 1970 and the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. After a strong NBA career in which he was selected to the All-Star Team five times, Embry became the first African-American general manager in NBA history when he was hired by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1972. He was twice named NBA Executive of the Year in 1992 and 1998. In 1999 Embry was selected to the Naismith Hall of Fame for both his on and off court accomplishments.

EMBRY GIVEAWAYS: The first 450 students to arrive will receive a FREE Wayne Embry jersey! In addition, the first 500 students will get free ice cream at halftime. For all fans, the first 1,000 in the building will get a free Wayne Embry face on a stick to show off during the game.

ABOUT OHIO: The Bobcats are 11-10 overall and 3-6 in the MAC. They had their bye during the midweek and have not seen action since a 65-53 setback to Akron last Saturday. They have dropped their past two games. Ohio is led by redshirt sophomore Jason Carter. After missing most of last season due to injury, Carter has come back strong for the Bobcats, averaging 16.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES WITH BOBCATS: The Bobcats hold a 110-93 lead in the all-time series with the RedHawks. With 203 meetings, Ohio is Miami's most played opponent by far. The teams met three times last season with the Bobcats coming out on top twice. On Feb. 17, 2018 in Athens, Ohio built a double-digit lead before the 'Hawks stormed back to force overtime. However, the 'Cats closed the extra session on an 11-2 run to take a 92-87 win. Nike Sibande finished with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds in that contest. In the regular season finale on March 2, 2018 in Oxford, Ohio went on a run midway through the second half that allowed it to pull away for a 75-66 victory. Sibande had 23 points, while Dalonte Brown recorded a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. The teams met again three days later on March 5, 2018 in Oxford in the first round of the MAC Tournament. This time it was a defensive battle as Miami held Ohio to only 18 points in the first half as it eliminated the Bobcats with a 68-55 win. Darrian Ringo led the way for the 'Hawks with 21 points.

UP AHEAD: Miami has its midweek bye next week. It returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when it travels to Western Michigan. Tip time is 2 p.m. and it will air live on ESPN3. An audio broadcast of the game will be available on the RedHawk IMG Sports Network Tunein App.
