Miami Pulls Away From Bradley in Second Half for 71-55 Victory

The RedHawks outscored the Braves 41-28 during the second half.
OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami men's basketball team (6-6) beat Bradley on Saturday by a 71-55 margin on Heroes Day inside Millett Hall, pulling away with a 41-28 scoring margin in the second half.
Nike Sibande led Miami with his second double-double of the season, putting up 18 points and tying a career high with 11 rebounds. Dalonte Brown and Isaiah Coleman-Lands also scored in double figures, totaling 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Sibande opened the game with a three-pointer, his first of two in the first half.
Bradley would go on to tie the game at seven after seven minutes of play before four-straight points by Miami gave the RedHawks a 11-7 lead at the media timeout with 11:34 remaining in the first half.
Miami's defense held Bradley without a basket for four minutes of play, outscoring the Braves 9-2 during that time. Bradley called a timeout with 8:50 remaining in the first half after Dalonte Brown extended Miami's lead to 19-11 with a three-pointer.
Dae Dae Grant scored the next six points for the RedHawks as Miami held a 25-16 lead with less than four to play before halftime. The RedHawks had the 30-21 lead with 2:28 remaining in the first half but Bradley put together a 6-0 run to end the first half trailing Miami by just three.
Myja White opened the second half with a three-pointer and the first five points on the floor as Miami began the half on a 9-1 run to take a 39-28 lead with 16:34 to play, forcing a Braves timeout.
Bradley hits a three-pointer to end its scoring drought but Bam Bowman answers on the next possession with a three of his own to keep Miami's lead in double digits. Brown became the first RedHawk in double figures with a long-range shot with 13 minutes to play.
Bradley momentarily cut Miami's lead below 10 but Lairy's second three-pointer of the game increased the RedHawks' lead to 50-38 with 10:32 to play.
Sibande reached double figures with his third three-pointer of the game as Miami held a 57-41 lead with 7:42 to play. Following Sibande's three, Coleman-Lands reached double figures for the sixth time this season with six-straight points for the RedHawks. Miami extended its lead to 63-43 with 6:20 remaining.
The RedHawks held a 66-47 lead with five to play. Despite not making a shot during the final five minutes, Miami made five free throws down the stretch. The Braves scored the final seven points of the game to cap scoring at 71-55.
The RedHawks return to action on Monday, Dec. 30 as they host Wilberforce for camper reunion day. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
