OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University men's basketball team is back in Oxford after the Thanksgiving break to host local rival Northern Kentucky on Tuesday. Tip time is 7 p.m. and it will air live on ESPN+. An audio broadcast will be available on the Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner. The game will also feature a halftime performance by the Kings Firecrackers jump rope team.

MIAMI MAKING THREES:  Miami ranks 50th in the country (out of 353), averaging 9.3 three-point makes per game. Almost every 'Hawk has the ability to make one from behind the arc, as 12 out of the 14 players who have played this season have hit at least one. Redshirt sophomore guard Isaiah Coleman-Lands leads the way with 14 three-point makes. Junior forward Dalonte Brown has hit 11, while redshirt junior guard Milos Jovic has made nine and leads the team with a .643 shooting percentage (9-for-14) from deep.

BOWMAN LOOKING TO GET HEALTHY AND MAKE IMPACT: Senior forward Bam Bowman had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Miami's last game against Wright State, despite playing only 19 minutes due to injury. While he has been able to play in only four games so far this season, he is still third on the RedHawks in scoring at 8.5 points per game and third in rebounding at 4.3 caroms per contest.

KINGS FIRECRACKERS: A big fan favorite, the Kings Firecrackers will be showing their skills at halftime of Tuesday's game. The Firecrackers are a performance jump rope team made up of talented 4th-8th graders from the Kings Local School District in Ohio.

STUDENT GIVEAWAY: The first 500 students to attend Tuesday's contest will receive a free Miami water bottle.

ABOUT NORTHERN KENTUCKY: The Norse are 5-3 on the season. Despite losing star Drew McDonald from last year's NCAA Tournament team, they have continued to find success with a defense that is giving up an average of 67.6 points per game. In their last game they held tough against Arkansas on the road before falling, 66-60. Northern Kentucky has been led by senior forward Dantez Walton. He leads the team by averaging 16.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES WITH NORTHERN KENTUCKY: NKU has only two meetings with Miami. Last season, on Dec. 16, 2018 in Highland Heights, Kentucky, the teams battled for 40 minutes with neither team establishing a lead of more than seven points. The Norse were able to hit their free throws down the stretch and secure a 72-66 victory. Nike SIbande led the RedHawks with 13 points.

MIAMI VS. HORIZON LEAGUE: The Horizon League is made up of 10 schools in the same geographical footprint as the MAC. Miami has had pretty good success against these schools. All-time, the RedHawks are 38-22 all-time against the current members of the Horizon League. In addition to its 0-2 record versus Northern Kentucky, Miami is 21-15 record against Wright State,, 5-0 vs. Cleveland State, 2-0 vs. UIC, 4-1 vs. IUPUI, 2-0 vs. Oakland, 2-1 vs. Milwaukee and 2-3 vs. Green Bay. The RedHawks have never played Detroit Mercy or Youngstown State.

UP AHEAD: Miami hits the road to visit Evansville on Saturday. Tip time is at 2 p.m. (EST) and it will air live on ESPN+. Due to the MAC Championship football game going on at same time, this game will not air on the radio.
