
Golf Finishes in Sixth at White Sands Invitational

NASSAU, Bahamas – Miami concluded play at the White Sands Invitational with a three-under par 285 in the final round. The RedHawks finished in sixth place at 14-under par while Houston won the team title at 31-under par.
Paired with the second-ranked SMU in the final round, Miami out shot them by one (285-286) and ended up with the head-to-head victory, finishing two shots better overall for the tournament (14-under to 12-under).
Junior Charlie Nikitas ended in a tie for 19th and was the top finisher for Miami at five-under par. Nikitas shot a three-over par 75 in the final round. Junior Jack Mortell and senior Jack Katarincic both finished in a tie for 33rd at two-under par. Mortell shot his best round of the season at four-under par and Katarincic shot a one-over par 73.
Freshman Danny Fisher shot a two-under par 70 to finish the weekend tied for 40th at even par. Redshirt sophomore Jack Herceg shot a round of 74 to finish tied for 55th at three-over par.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Jack Ebner shot his second even par round of the weekend and finished tied for 48th at one-over par. Shooting a final round of 73 and finishing tied for 68th at six-over par was senior Cam Solomon.
Miami is done with play for the fall season but will continue its season February 16, 2020 when it travels to Bluffton, South Carolina to compete against Michigan State.
