RedHawks Finish Ahead of Michigan State by One Stroke

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Miami concluded their dual against Michigan State with a score of 288. The Spartans finished one shot behind the RedHawks at 289. The match was shortened to one round as the teams were unable to finish the second round due to darkness.

Redshirt sophomore Jack Herceg had the best overall round of the day with a four-under par round of 68 while freshman Danny Fisher ended the round with an even par 72. Close behind was Charlie Nikitas with a one-over par round of 73. Junior Jack Mortell shot a 75 and senior Jack Katarincic followed with a 76.

Jack Ebner and Cam Solomon competed as individuals. Ebner shot a three-under par 69 and Solomon shot a 74.

Leading Michigan State was Troy Taylor II who shot three-under par. Andrew Walker and James Piot both shot a 73 while Bradley Smithson shot a 74. Landon Ernst rounded out the team with an 80. The Spartans also had Pierce Morrissey compete as an individual. He shot a round of 81.

Miami's next competition will take place March 2-3 when it travels back down to Bluffton, South Carolina for the Colleton River Collegiate.
