Miami Hosts UIC Tuesday in Goals for Life Game

The teams will tip-off inside Millett Hall at noon.
ON TAP: Miami (3-2) hosts UIC for the RedHawks home opener on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. for the Goals for Life game. Fans can listen to the game on The Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner and watch the game on ESPN+.
GOALS FOR LIFE GAME: The RedHawks will welcome nearly 1,000 local middle school students to Miami's campus and Millett Hall for the special noon tip-time. Each student will get to experience something special, with the activity depending on their current grade level. Sixth-grade students will talk about leadership and making good choices with student-athletes and coaches. Seventh-grade students will hear a speech on positive empowerment. Eighth-grade students will embark on a college readiness day – touring campus and eating lunch in a dining hall – to get a glimpse into what it's like to be a student on a college campus.
LAST TIME OUT: The RedHawks fell by a 79-68 margin at Bradley on Saturday. Lauren Dickerson led all players with 28 points while Peyton Scott and Kelly McLaughlin each scored in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively. McLaughlin led the RedHawks roster with nine rebounds.

ABOUT UIC: The Flames have a 0-6 record after the first month of the season, most recently losing to Florida State on Saturday by a 42-86 margin. Against Florida State, UIC had four players in double figures with Kiah Gillespie an Kourtney Weber leading the way at 16 points apiece. Tylah Lampley leads the Flames offense this season with 11.3 points per game while Jada Nneji leads on the boards with 8.7 rebounds per game.
SERIES WITH THE FLAMES: UIC and Miami each have two wins in the all-time series. Last season, the RedHawks won in Chicago by a 65-56 margin. Miami was up by three points going into the final 10 minutes of play but outscored UIC 25-19 in the final quarter. Leah Purvis and Kendall McCoy both scored in double figures for the RedHawks while Dickerson led players returning for this season with eight points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
LOOKING AHEAD: The RedHawks are on the road this weekend for the Miami (FL) Thanksgiving Tournament. Miami begins the tournament on Friday as the RedHawks face Liberty at 4:30 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on The Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner.
