Miami Travels to Eastern Kentucky Wednesday

LAST TIME OUT: Last Friday, the RedHawks overcame a 13-point deficit in the second half to beat South Alabama by a 76-73 margin to wrap up play in the Preseason WNIT. Lauren Dickerson led Miami's offense with 21 points, the 40th 20-point game of her career. Savannah Kluesner recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and moved up to 10th in program history with her 75th career block. Peyton Scott and Abbey Hoff both scored in double figures with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

ABOUT EASTERN KENTUCKY: The Colonels, like the RedHawks, have started the season 2-1. EKU beat Northern Kentucky in its season opener by a 69-62 margin. Eastern Kentucky also beat Memphis but fell to Butler last weekend by a 73-41 margin. Samari Mowbray led the EKU offense against Butler with 15 points while De'Ayra Davis also scored in double figures with 12. This season, Davis and Bria Bass lead the Colonels offense each averaging nine points per game. I'Liyah Green leads the rebounding efforts with 8.3 rebounds per game.
SERIES WITH THE COLONELS: Eastern Kentucky has a 9-6 lead in the all-time series with Miami, though the RedHawks are on a two-game win streak against EKU. In Richmond, EKU has won five games compared to Miami's one. Last season, the RedHawks beat the Colonels by a 60-44 margin in Oxford. Lauren Dickerson led both teams with 19 points while Abbey Hoff also scored in double figures for Miami with 11 points. Miami had a two-point lead going into the fourth quarter and held EKU's offense to just four points in the final 10 minutes of play to win by 16.
LOOKING AHEAD: The RedHawks play at Bradley on Saturday at 2 p.m. before hosting the University of Illinois - Chicago next Tuesday at noon.
