OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University field hockey team (7-7, 2-1 MAC) hosts Longwood on Friday at 1 p.m. for a conference matchup. The game will look to raise cancer awareness and will also be a red out.

Last week, Miami controlled play but fell at Kent State on Friday before going toe-to-toe with No. 8 Virginia on Sunday in Oxford. Leonor Berlie had both of Miami's goals on the weekend as she increases her season total to nine goals to lead the league.

ABOUT LONGWOOD: The Lancers (6-6, 2-1 MAC) split their games last week, beating Appalachian State in overtime before being shutout by No. 15 Liberty by a 3-0 margin. Longwood's conference loss was a 2-1 loss at Ohio while Longwood has also beaten Central Michigan 1-0 in conference play. Junior forward Karly Harwood leads the Lancers offense with six goals this season while Katie Wyman has logged every minute in the cage, including five shutouts, and has a 1.25 GAA so far this season.

SERIES WITH LONGWOOD: Miami owns all nine victories in the all-time series with Longwood, with the two teams only meeting once in the MAC Tournament. In 2018, the RedHawks shutout the Lancers by a 4-0 margin. Taylor Curran and Allie Grace Joyner each scored for Miami while Noor Breedijk and Morgan Sturm each contributed an assist. Miami led the game 15-10 in shots, 7-5 in shots on goal and 5-3 in penalty corners.

UP AHEAD: Miami travels to Ohio on Friday, Oct. 25 for a MAC game at 1 p.m. to wrap up the road schedule. The RedHawks return to Oxford on Sunday, Oct. 27 for a non-conference matchup against UC Davis at 1 p.m. The UC Davis game is the Myaamia Heritage game.
