CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Miami University golf team will compete in the Bearcat Invitational starting on Monday with hopes of capturing a team title.
The University of Cincinnati will host the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club which is a par-71, 7,150-yard course. The Coldstream Country Club was an Ohio Amateur Qualifier this past May and has hosted USGA qualifiers in the past.
Miami will compete against Akron, Arkansas, Kentucky, McNeese, Middle Tennessee, Ohio State, Penn State, Western Kentucky, Xavier, and the host Cincinnati.
"The focus really has to be on ourselves and us making sure that we do all the things well that are in our control," said head coach Zac Zedrick. "If we do those things, we're going to have a chance to win."
The unique format for the Bearcat will see the RedHawks bring six golfers to the event rather than the normal five. As usual the top four scores each round will count towards the team score. Miami's six golfers will be redshirt senior Brian Ohr, junior Cam Solomon, junior Jack Katarincic, sophomore Charlie Nikitas, sophomore Jack Mortell, and freshman Jack Ebner.
Miami will play 36 continuous holes on Monday and have a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday starting at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring, courtesy of Golfstat, can be found here.
