
Golf in 12th as Darkness Delays Second Round of Northern Intercollegiate

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The Miami University golf team sits in 12th place after day one of the Northern Intercollegiate. None of the teams were able to complete the second round due to darkness.
Miami shot a 17-over par 305 in round one, which has it tied for 10th. The RedHawks are currently 12-over as a team in the second round and in 12th place overall at 29-over. Marquette is the current team leader at three-under par.
Leading Miami is sophomore Charlie Nikitas, who shot a one-under par round of 71 in round one. He is currently through 14 holes and is tied for 11th at one-over par. There is a tie for the lead at three-under par between Zack Taylor of Coastal Caroline and Salvador Rocha of Northern Illinois.
Second for the RedHawks is redshirt senior Brian Ohr at five-over par and tied for 34th. Ohr shot a 76 in round one and is currently through 15 holes of the second round.
The rest of the RedHawks include freshman Jack Ebner, junior Cam Solomon, and sophomore Jack Mortell. Ebner is tied for 63rd place and sits at 12-over par following a 78 in the morning and a 65 through 15 holes in the second round. Solomon currently sits in a tie for 71st at 13-over par. Solomon is through 13 holes in round two and shot an 81 in round one. Mortell shot an 80 in the first round and is also tied for 71st at 13-over par with two holes left in round two.
Round two will conclude Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. central time with the final round to follow.
