Volleyball Hosts RedHawk Invitational this Weekend

OXFORD, Ohio - With Mid-American Conference play right around the corner, the Miami University volleyball team holds the RedHawk Invitational this weekend inside of Millett Hall. On Friday, Miami takes on Oakland at 7 p.m. The RedHawks complete play with a match against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday at 6 p.m.

NEED TO KNOW INFO: Tickets for each Miami match at the RedHawk Invitational can be purchased online for $8.50. Tickets for Friday's match can be purchased HERE. Tickets for Saturday's match can be purchased HERE. Admission is free for the 11 a.m. match between Saint Francis and Oakland on Saturday. In addition, parking is free for all matches.

Each Miami match will air live on RedHawks All-Access for those who have a subscription.

PROMOS FRIDAY: It is Red and White Appreciation Night. There will be an autograph session after the match with free autograph cards and posters available for all fans.

PROMOS SATURDAY: It is Meet the Team/Camper Reunion Night with the chance to meet all of your favorite RedHawks. There will be an autograph session after the match with free autograph cards and posters available for all fans.

ABOUT OAKLAND: Having played a very difficult schedule, the Golden Grizzlies are 3-6 on the season. They have dropped five matches in a row, including all three at the tournament they co-hosted with Michigan last weekend. After dropping a 0-3 decision to the 20th-ranked Wolverines on Friday, they fell in four sets to Colorado State and three sets to LSU on Saturday. Oakland is led by sophomore middle hitter Jamie Walling. She has 83 kills, an average of 2.37 kills per set.

SERIES WITH GOLDEN GRIZZLIES: This is first ever meeting between Miami and Oakland.

ABOUT SAINT FRANCIS: A very young team, the Red Flash are 1-10 on the season. After dropping straight set matches to Lehigh and Radford last Friday, they earned their first victory of the season with a 3-1 victory over host Pennsylvania on Saturday. Saint Francis is led by freshman outside hitter Madi Tyus. She has 133 kills, an average of 3.33 kills per set.
