YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The RedHawk baseball team fell to Eastern Michigan, 4-0, Sunday as the Eagles salvaged a victory in the series finale in what was otherwise a good weekend for Miami. The Red & White took the first two games of the weekend to return home with a series win in-hand.

EMU (6-15, 1-2 MAC) struck for a pair of runs in both the third and fourth innings and that was all the scoring in the game. In the third, the Eagles plated two runs thanks to a bases-loaded hit by pitch that was followed by a walk. In the fourth, EMU tallied scores on a one-run double and a one-run single.

RedHawk starting pitcher Bailey Martin went 3.2 innings and allowed four runs on five hits while striking out three. Shane Smith tossed 3.1 scoreless innings in relief, surrendering just three hits while fanning two. Jay Wilson and Michael Hendricks combined to pitch a scoreless eighth.

Miami (13-7, 2-1 MAC) is back in action on Wednesday at Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN3. The `Hawks then host Toledo at home for the weekend.
