NASSAU, Bahamas - For the second straight season Miami is in a foreign country as it competes in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase. The eight-team tournament will take place Friday through Sunday at the Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium. The RedHawks begin play on Friday when they take on North Dakota State in the first round at 2 p.m. They will then face either Montana or Incarnate Word on Saturday in either a second round game at 5 p.m. or a consolation game at 11 a.m. They will then take on either Pepperdine, Georgia Southern, Florida Atlantic or Towson at a to be determined time in the finale on Sunday. The tournament will be webcast for a fee of either $9.95 per game or $24.95 for the entire tournament. Fans can also listen to an audio broadcast from Miami College Sports Live online or the Miami IMG Sports Network on the radio.

REDHAWKS IN EARLY SEASON TOURNAMENTS: While this is the fifth straight season the RedHawks will participate in an MTE Tournament of some sort, it is the first time since the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in Los Angeles, Nov. 12-13, 2008 that they have competed in a true bracket style early season tournament. This is the first eight-team bracket tournament Miami has been in since the Anaheim Classic, Nov. 22-25, 2007.
 
POTENTIAL OPPONENTS

ABOUT NORTH DAKOTA STATE: The Bison are 1-1 on the season. They fell on the road to New Mexico State in their opener, 73-56, on Nov. 6, but rebounded to defeat UC Santa Barbara at home, 82-63. NDSU's 6-10 post player, sophomore Rocky Kreuser leads the team averaging 14.5 points per game.

MIAMI VS. SUMMIT LEAGUE: Miami is 6-3 all-time against members of the Summit League. The RedHawks are 1-0 vs. Denver, 3-3 vs. Purdue Fort Wayne and 2-0 vs. Western Illinois. In addition to North Dakota State, Miami has never faced North Dakota, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota or South Dakota State

ABOUT MONTANA: The Grizzlies are 2-0 on the season having defeated Georgia State (81-74) and Montana Tech (79-55). The defending Big Sky Champion and NCAA Tournament team from a season ago, they return six out of their seven rotation players. Montana's top returning player is redshirt senior guard Ahmaad Rorie. He is averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game so far.
MIAMI VS. BIG SKY: Miami is 5-2 all-time against the Big Sky Conference. The RedHawks are 1-1 against Eastern Washington, 1-0 vs. Idaho, 0-1 vs. Idaho State, 1-0 vs. Southern Utah and 2-0 vs. Weber State. Like Montana, the RedHawks have never faced Montana State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State and Sacramento State.

ABOUT INCARNATE WORD: The Cardinals are 3-1 on the season. They have defeated three non-DI teams and dropped a game at Texas Tech. UIW's top player is freshman guard Morgan Taylor. He is averaging 15.5 points per game.

MIAMI VS. SOUTHLAND: Miami is 4-0 all-time against Southland Conference schools. The RedHawks are 1-0 vs. New Orleans, 1-0 vs. Nicholls State and 2-0 vs. Northwestern State. Like Incarnate Word, Miami has never faced Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Lamar, McNeese State, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

THE SERIES WITH THE TOURNEY TEAMS: This would be the first meeting between Miami and all three of these teams. On the other side of the bracket, the RedHawks are 1-1 all-time vs. Towson, 0-1 vs. FAU and have never faced Pepperdine or Georgia Southern.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks will have the Thanksgiving holiday off before returning to action on Saturday, Nov. 24 for a home game against Army. Tip time is 2 p.m. and it will air on either ESPN3 or ESPN+, with an audio broadcast available on the Miami IMG Sports Network.
