OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University field hockey team (12-6 overall, 5-0 MAC) hosts Ohio on Sunday at noon to close the 2018 regular season schedule. This game is the senior game and alumnae day.
Last weekend, the RedHawks beat Appalachian State by a 4-1 margin on Saturday before shutting out Michigan State 4-0 on Sunday. Miami's win over Appalachian State clinched the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament as well as at least a share of the regular season MAC Championship.
Paula Portugal scored both game-winning goals, a hat trick against Michigan State and a total of five goals on the weekend to earn her MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season.

ABOUT OHIO: The Bobcats (4-9 overall, 2-3 MAC) fell to Kent State by a 1-2 margin last weekend in conference play. Sophomore midfielder Jillian Shive and junior forward Karynne Baker lead the Ohio offense with 19 and 14 points, respectively. Shive leads the Bobcats in MAC play with five goals, including both game-winners.
SERIES WITH OHIO: Miami owns a 40-34 lead in the all-time series against Ohio, including the last four. In 2017, the 'Hawks beat the Bobcats by a 3-0 margin with goals coming from Portugal,
