Football
Last Week: Miami (1-2) led the majority of the way, but a late interception return for a touchdown led to a 21-17 victory for Cincinnati on Saturday. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks hit the road to open MAC play when they travel to Central Michigan Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kick.
Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (8-5) went 1-1 at the Stacey Clark Classic to conclude non-conference play. The RedHawks dropped a 0-3 (20-25, 16-25, 19-25) decision to 15th-ranked Purdue on Friday. (Recap) Miami closed out non-conference play with a dominant 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-23) victory over Loyola (Chi.) Saturday. (Recap) This Week: MAC play begins when the RedHawks host Bowling Green Thursday at 7 p.m. The match will air live on ESPN3. Miami then hosts Western Michigan on Saturday at 5 p.m. That contest will be streamed on MiamiRedHawks.com for those who have a subscription.
Field Hockey
Last week: Miami (4-4) went 2-0 to begin conference play. The RedHawks shut out Ohio 3-0 on Friday (recap) and dominated Appalachian State with a 6-2 victory on Sunday. (Recap). Junior Paula Portugal scored three goals and four assists for a total of 10 points last week. Freshman Lexie Nugent notched two goals and one assist for a total of five points. Freshman Leonor Berlie recorded three assists in the game against Appalachian State. This week: Miami hosts Michigan State on Friday at 3 p.m. The RedHawks then travel to Louisville, Ky. for a neutral site game against Wake Forest at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Golf
Last Week: The RedHawks were idle last week. This week: Miami competes in the Inverness Intercollegiate this week in Toledo, Ohio. The RedHawks will play 36 holes on Monday and one final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
Soccer
Last Week: Miami (0-7) wrapped up non-conference play with a road tilt at Illinois State on Sunday afternoon. While the RedHawks put up the two best scoring opportunities of the match, they were unable to capitalize and eventually dropped their third-straight 1-0 decision (Recap). This Week: Miami begins MAC play with trips to Toledo and Bowling Green on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Cross Country
Last Week: Miami's second race of the fall resulted in solid performances by both the men's and women's teams. The men placed fourth amongst a tough field. They were led by sophomore Sean Torpy, who topped his previous PR by 35 seconds and turned in a 25:08.3 to take fourth. Senior Maria Scavuzzo was the highest-scoring woman with a 17:56.0 that resulted in her placing 16th. She and the rest of the women's squad placed seventh. (Recap) This Week: The Red and White will host the RedHawk Rumble on Saturday. It will be their first home cross country meet since 2014.
