For their performances last week, Kate Hallie and Cameron Pero are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of March 13.

Female Winner: Kate Hallie
Kate Hallie set the program record for discus, winning the event with a mark of 50.95m. This mark leads the MAC and is 74th in the nation. She also took fourth in shot put, with a mark of 14.02m (she is currently ranked third in the MAC and 141st in the nation from last week). She placed seventh in hammer with a throw of 46.78m, and she is currently ranked eighth in the MAC for this event (from last week's throw). A freshman thrower from Auckland, New Zealand, she is studying Sport Management in the College of Education, Health and Society.

Male Winner: Cameron Pero
Cameron Pero (68-69-72=209) tied for third at the Robert Kepler Invitational out of 84 players to help Miami Golf take third place as a team in a 16-team field. Pero carded seven of his 15 birdies in the opening round Saturday and never looked back, earning his highest placement of the season and recording the fourth top-five finish for a RedHawk golfer this season. His efforts helped Miami finish ahead of Big Ten programs like Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana as the Red and White ended the tournament at 14 under par as a team. A senior from Bloomfield, Ontario, he is studying Finance in the Farmer School of Business.
