Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (12-7 overall, 4-2 MAC) earned a pair of wins at home last week. A solid all-around effort led the RedHawks to a 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23) win over Buffalo Thursday evening. (Recap) Several strong performances helped the Miami overcome dropping the first set in a 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18) win over Akron Friday evening. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks host a pair of matches as part of Alumni Weekend next weekend. On Friday, Central Michigan comes to Millett for a 7 p.m. match. That contest will air live on ESPN3. On Saturday, Eastern Michigan visits for a 5 p.m. contest. The match will air live on MiamiRedHawks.com for those who have a subscription.
Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (6-6 overall, 4-0 MAC) defeated Longwood 2-1 to stay undefeated in the MAC. Both of the RedHawks' goals came from freshman forward/midfielder Lexie Nugent, bringing her season total to six goals. Allie Grace Joyner and Paula Portugal each picked up an assist. (Recap) This Week: Miami travels to North Carolina for a pair of games. On Sunday, the RedHawks face off against No. 2 Duke at 1 p.m. On Monday, Miami takes on Davidson at 5 p.m.
Hockey
Last Week: The RedHawks opened their 2017-18 regular season with a tilt against nationally ranked Providence. Miami fell behind 1-0 in the first period on Friday night before getting a trio of freshmen tying it up before intermission as Austin Alger scored on assists from Casey Gilling and Phil Knies. Providence went ahead late in the second on a breakaway goal and scored 50 seconds into the third to go up 3-1 while killing off all nine Miami power plays to win by the same score (Recap). A major penalty put the RedHawks in a 2-0 hole before Saturday's finale was five minutes old, but they rallied back as the game wore on. Grant Hutton cut the deficit to 2-1 after two periods and assisted on Gilling's first career goal that tied it up 6:57 into the third. The RedHawks appeared poised to complete the comeback, but the Friars scored with 0.9 seconds left to pull out a 3-2 win and sweep the series (Recap). This Week: Miami heads to Michigan for an exhibition against the USA National Team Development Program on Friday evening at 7:05 p.m.
Soccer
Last Week: Miami (0-12-1, 0-5-1 MAC) dropped a pair of one-goal decisions over the weekend. The RedHawks opened with a trip to Northern Illinois, where Madison Knock's first career goal tied the score at 1-1 late to force overtime. However, the Huskies prevailed in the extra session, netting the winner just over two minutes in (Recap). The Red and White faced another second half deficit against Western Michigan on Sunday and generated a number of scoring opportunities in the second half, but fell by a 1-0 count (Recap). This Week: The RedHawks host Central Michigan on Friday and Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
Golf
Last Week: The golf team currently sits in second place only two shots back of Penn State at the darkness delayed Windon Memorial Classic. (Recap) This Week: The Windon Memorial Classic resumes Monday with the conclusion of the second round, followed by the final round.

Last Week: Miami dropped a 37-29 decision last Saturday to Bowling Green. In the loss, Miami racked up 612 yards of offense. (Recap) This Week: Miami travels to face Kent State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
