Golf in Second as Darkness Delays Second Round at Windon

SKOKIE, Ill.- The conclusion of day one at the Windon Memorial Classic on Sunday has the Miami University golf team in second place. Although most teams have made it through two rounds, darkness hit before the conclusion of round two, and Miami along two other teams still have a few holes left.
The RedHawks shot an eight-under par 272 in round one, which gave them a four-shot lead. Currently, Miami is seven-over as a team in round two and in second place at one-under par overall. The RedHawks are two behind current leader Penn State, which completed the second round three-under par.
Leading Miami is senior Patrick Flavin, who shot a season-low five-under par round of 65 in the first round.. He is currently through 12 holes of the second round and is tied for third at two-under par. He is only one shot behind co-leaders Jake Brown of Indiana and Lachlan Baker of Iowa State, each of whom completed round two at three-under par.
Just behind Flavin is freshman Charlie Nikitas, who is at even par, putting him at a tie for twelfth in the standings. Nikitas shot a round of 70 in the morning and is currently through 15 holes of the second round.
Rounding out the RedHawks are redshirt junior Brian Ohr, sophomore Cam Solomon, and freshman Jack Herceg. Ohr, the only RedHawk to get through the second round, sits at one-over par and in a tie for 14th after shooting a 67 in the morning and a 74 in the afternoon Solomon shot a round of 70 in the first round and currently sits at 26th at three-over par in the standings with three holes left in the second round. Herceg is through 15 holes in the second round and shot a four-over par round of 74 in the morning. He currently sits at a tie for 42nd at five-over par.
Round two will finish up Monday morning, with the RedHawks teeing off beginning at 8:30 a.m. (EDT). The final round will begin at 11 a.m. (EDT).
