MAC Announces Men's Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced its 2016 Men's Swimming and Diving Academic All-MAC team on Tuesday. Miami had 14 of the 69 student-athletes who made the cut.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Senior Evan Bader, sophomore Thomas Blackstone, junior Lucas Brock, senior Christopher Dieter, senior Cole Fryman, junior Maximilian Jelen, senior Michael Nash, junior Jacob Prodoehl, junior Steven Russo, sophomore Ross Rybakowicz, junior Sean Sargent, sophomore Peter Simcox, senior Davis Staley and junior Jack Strauss were all named to the team.
Eastern Michigan leads the conference with 16 student-athletes receiving academic honors. Miami follows close behind with 14 Academic All-MAC honorees, while Southern Illinois placed 12 students on the team.
