Day Two of MAC Championships Concluded

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Miami University women's swimming and diving team had a successful day, complete with a Mid-American Conference champion and runner-up.
Junior diver Pei Lin won the one-meter dive for the second year in a row with a score of 322.35.
Junior Stephanie LeMire became the MAC runner-up in the 200-yard IM, breaking Miami's school record in the process (2:00.80). Sophomore Holly Schuster finished 12th in the event with a career best time of 2:03.39. Senior Shannon Ahearn touched the wall in 2:05.14, good enough for 15th place.
Sophomore Shay Spelman placed 10th in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at a time of 4:56.49.
Senior Gabby Veri swam a life-time best 23.39 in the 50-yard freestyle, placing 14th. Fellow Senior Sara Krueger touched the wall in 16th with a time of 23.59.
The team of senior Natalie Rohr, LeMire, Veri and Krueger finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay to close out the night. The quad touched the wall in 1:32.93.
Prelims will start tomorrow at 11 a.m. and finals at 7 p.m.
The events that will be run tomorrow are the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, three-meter dive and 400-yard medley relay.
The cost of attendance will be $7 for a single session or $25 for the entire championship for adults. Students K-12 can purchase tickets for $5 per session or $15 for an all-sessions pass, while MAC students with a valid ID and children five and under will be given free admission. Doors will open to the public one hour prior to the first event of each session.
