RedHawk Women Defeat Cincinnati

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami University women's swim & dive team climbed back above .500 in dual meets to 4-3 as they defeated the University of Cincinnati Wednesday night in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
The three junior divers were a great contribution to the team, with Pei Lin taking first place in the three-meter dive (290.92) and one-meter dive (321.90). Jenna Karrow placed second in the one-meter (268.19) as Taylor LeCount finished in fourth (261.15).
Senior Sara Krueger led two different 1-2-3 finishes for the RedHawks. She finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.22), with seniors Natalie Rohr (24.62) and Gabby Veri (24.72) right behind her. Krueger also clocked in first in the 100-yard freestyle (52.80). Rohr placed second again with a time of 52.87 and junior Logan Klinsky finished third, touching the wall in 53.58.
Junior Stephanie LeMire also picked up a couple of individual wins to start 2016. She placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:04.57. LeMire finished in first in the 200-yard breaststroke as well, coming in at 2:20.52.
Klinsky, senior Michele Rielly and freshman Peyton Mosbaugh all picked up wins of their own against the Bearcats. Klinsky won the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.82), Rielly won the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.51) and Mosbaugh won the 100-yard butterfly (57.01).
As for the two relays on the night, the team of junior Brittany Dudzinski, LeMire, Mosbaugh and Rohr won the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:46.27. Klinsky, Veri, Rohr, and Krueger finished out the night with the 400-yard freestyle relay, coming in with the winning time of 3:32.52.
The RedHawks will be back in action as they travel to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Friday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.
