Red and White Intrasquad Meet a Success

OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University's women's swimming and diving team opened up its season with the annual Red and White intrasqaud meet at the Nixon Aquatic Center on Saturday morning.
The RedHawks welcomed seven freshmen to the team this season, one of which had a spectacular outing in her first meet. Kelsey High finished in second place in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM.
Other impressive freshmen included Sarah Wolanske, Grace Van Fossen and Peyton Mosbaugh. Wolanske touched the wall third in the 100-yard freestyle and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle. Van Fossen placed second in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 200-yard freestyle. Mosbaugh clocked in third in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly.
"It was neat seeing the freshmen in their first Miami meet. They really stepped it up and I was impressed with quite a few of them." head coach, Mark Davis said, "It's getting that first time of the Love and Honor, doing the team cheer and the fight song in that meet situation. It's great excitement for our team."
NCAA runner-up, junior, Pei Lin, started off her 2015-16 campaign strongly, winning the three-meter dive and the one-meter dive.
Juniors Logan Klinsky and Stephanie LeMire had an impressive showing, each winning two individual events and a relay. Klinsky won the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle. LeMire won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke.
The other two-race winner on the day was sophomore, Morgan Quesnel, who swept the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly.
The RedHawks will open up their competitive schedule on Oct. 16 against Purdue at the Nixon Aquatic Center.
