MUNCIE, Ind. -- A pair of sixth-place finishes added to the Miami men's track and field team's point total on day two of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The RedHawks sit fourth in the team standings with 32 points after two days and seven completed events. Akron and Eastern Michigan are tied for the team lead with 76 points apiece, followed by Kent State (33), Miami and Buffalo (32) and Central Michigan (21).

Miami got three points out of Zane Shreve, who finished the decathlon with 4,884 points to place sixth in the 10-event gauntlet. Also adding three points to the Red and White total was Grant Cole, who took sixth in the long jump after marking 24-1.5 on his first and only leap of the day. That mark moves him into a tie for 45th in the region, putting him in contention to qualify for the NCAA East Region Preliminary meet in two weeks. Fellow long jumper Kenny Glenn narrowly missed scoring himself as he took ninth in the long jump with a leap of 23-0.5.

Ryan Moncrieff rounded out MU's scoring for the day by finishing seventh in the steeplechase with a time of 9:39.75. The RedHawks also sent five competitors to Saturday's finals. Sam Chester is seeded third for the 110m hurdles after finishing the preliminary race in a personal-best 14.23. Chester was one of three MU hurdlers to clear their preliminary test as Skyler Coburn (53.05) and Vinnie Minosky (53.82) will both run in the 400m hurdle finals. Miami also sent a pair of 800m competitors to Saturday's finals with both Andrew Dusing (1:54.98) and Joey Comisford (1:54.60) getting another two laps in tomorrow.

Saturday's competition will begin with the women's triple jump at 10:30 a.m. The first running event of the day is the men's 4x100m relay, which starts at 1 p.m.
