MUNCIE, Ind. -- A pair of second-place finishes highlighted Miami's final day at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

The RedHawks saw both Sam Chester (110m hurdles) and Joe Stewart (5000m) earn Second-Team All-MAC honors thanks to their runner-up finishes. MU finished sixth in the final team standings with 77 points, trailing MAC champion Eastern Michigan (205), Akron (188), Kent State (143), Buffalo (110.5) and Central Michigan (83.5).

Chester was the RedHawks' top individual performer on the final day of the meet. Chester earned Second-Team All-MAC honors by virtue of his runner-up finish in the 110m hurdle finals when he clocked a personal-best time of 14.13. His effort tacked eight points to MU's team total.

After posting two of the top three times in the 10,000m on Thursday, Stewart and Dave Wing went back to work in the 5000m on Saturday. Stewart, the MAC 10,000m champion, took second in the 5000m with a time of 14:19.19 while Wing added another point with his eighth-place finish (15:00.05).

The Red and White also got two scoring races from Andrew Dusing, who claimed fifth in the 1500m (3:49.05) and seventh in the 800m (1:52.0). Dusing wasn't the only RedHawk scorer in those events as Joey Comisford placed sixth in the 800m (1:51.85) while Stephen Biebelhausen posted an eighth-place finish in the 1500m (3:51.28). Miami also had a pair of scorers in the 400m hurdles in Skyler Coburn (sixth; 53.87) and Vinnie Minosky (seventh; 54.25).

Miami's 4x100m relay team of Adam Bodrick, Ryan Sims, Avery Taylor and Kenny Glenn tacked on three points with a sixth-place time of 41.60. The RedHawks also got a fifth-place finish from the 4x400m relay of Bodrick, Tyler Gittins, Comisford and Coburn (3:17.53).

In the field, Peter Stefanski rounded out the individual scoring by placing third in the high jump by matching his season best of 6-8 3/4.

The RedHawks have several competitors who stand to continue their season individually at the NCAA East Region prelims on May 28-30, which take 48 individual competitors in each event. Joe Stewart sits 38th in the 10,000m after earning a MAC title in the event on Thursday, Chester's PR on Saturday tentatively moved him up to 38th in the 110m hurdles, Kenny Glenn sits 31st in the long jump while Grant Cole's performance on Friday jumped him to 45th. Tyler Yee sits just outside the top 48 in the javelin, ranking 53rd.
