Big Innings lead Buffalo over Miami, 11-6

OXFORD, Ohio – The RedHawks (5-24, 3-7 MAC) fell to Buffalo, 11-6 Friday night. Two big offensive innings for Buffalo and six Miami errors helped lead the Bulls over the Red & White.
Miami started the game quickly, getting one run in each of the first two innings. The first run came courtesy of a single by Adam Yacek that scored Matt Honchel. In the second inning, Jake Romano earned a bases-loaded walk that scored Gary Russo.
Buffalo took the lead in the top of the fourth when they scored four runs. The scoring plays came on a sac fly, a two-run single and a wild pitch.
The Bulls had another big inning in the sixth. This time, it was five runs. Buffalo exited their half of the inning with a 9-2 lead. Miami responded in the bottom half of the frame when a Max Andresen double scored Steve Sada, cutting the UB lead to, 9-3.
Buffalo padded the lead in the top of the seventh by getting a two-run double, putting them up 11-3. Miami responded again in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Russo hit a bases-clearing double to deep center field. The Bulls lead was minimized to, 11-6.
No more scoring would occur as the Bulls hung on for the win. The RedHawks return to action Saturday against Buffalo for game two of the series. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Jacob Banks is set to take the mound for the Red & White tomorrow.
