CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference announced its first weekly softball awards on Tuesday. For Miami, sophomore first baseman Allie Larrabee was named the MAC East Division Player of the Week. It is the second time she has earned this honor in her career, previously winning it on Mar. 29, 2011.
Larrabee was Miami's top hitter for the week, going 6-for-9 (.667). She earned a spot on the All-Tournament team as she led the RedHawks to a 3-1 record at the KSU Classic. She also was tied for the team lead in slugging percentage at .889 after recording two doubles on the week. Her on base percentage with her two walks was .750. Against Austin Peay on Saturday, Larrabee was 3-for-4 with two RBI. She was 2-for-3 in the win over Mercer on Sunday. Larrabee did not strikeout the entire weekend.
The RedHawk softball team is off this weekend. Miami returns to action Feb. 24-26 when it travels to Memphis, Tenn. for the Blues City Classic.
