AKRON, Ohio - In its final big test before the Mid-American Conference Championships in two weeks, the Miami University women's track and field team performed well, winning two races while also earning three runner-up finishes Saturday at the Akron Invitational, held at the University of Akron's Stile Field House. The meet was divided into two divisions - the Gold and the Blue - with the Gold Division consisting of athletes with better seeds while several MAC schools, No. 17 Tennessee and multiple local rivals took part in the meet.
Senior Rachael Clay (Rossford, Ohio) continued her strong season, winning the 400m dash (Gold Division) for the second time this year as she crossed in a personal-best 54.90, which is the second-best time in school history, just 11-hundredths of a second shy of the school record.
