Katie Scannell's Photo Gallery 2010-11: Indoors, finished ninth in the 400m dash at the MAC Indoor Championships in 57.06 after qualifying third in the prelims (56.69) ... also ran on the school-record-setting 4x400m relay team at the MAC meet that finished in 3:46.94 to place fourth ... ran on the winning 4x400m relay team at the Hoosier Hills Invitational (3:52.62) ... won the 400m dash at the Findlay Oiler Opener in 57.34 ... captured first in the 500m run at the Bowling Green Challenge in 1:16.09 ... posted a season-best 400m dash time of 56.51 at the Meyo Invitational to claim eighth ... clocked a personal-best 200m dash time of 25.91 to take 11th at the Indiana Relays ... ran the 60m dash in 7.96 to place seventh at the Bowling Green Challenge. Outdoors, finished third in the 400m hurdles at the MAC Outdoor Championships in 1:00.79 ... ran on both relay teams at the MAC meet, helping Miami place fourth in the 4x400m (3:46.98) and fifth in the 4x100m (46.54) ... clocked a personal-best 400m hurdles time of 1:00.47 at the Gina Relays to earn runner-up honors ... also took second in the 400m dash at the Gina Relays in a personal-best 56.50 ... won the 400m hurdles at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships in (1:01.51) and helped Miami take second in both relays ... was second in the 400m hurdles at the Miami Invitational (1:01.96) and the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational (1:02.57) ... ran on the winning 4x100m relay team at the Billy Hayes Invitational (46.58). 2009-10: Indoors, ran season bests of 1:00.47 in the 400m at the Ball State Quad (2/19/10) for ninth place and 1:40.33 in the 600m to take 11th in the Gladstein Invitational (1/23/10) ... also ran the 800m in 2:25.21 at the Indiana Relays (1/29/10) ... ran in the 4x400m relay at the Ball State Quad as well, helping the team finish seventh in 4:08.02. Outdoors, posted a season-best 400m hurdles time of 1:01.57 in prelims at the MAC Championships and finished fifth in the finals in 1:02.47 (5/15/10) ... finished first in the 400m hurdles at the RedHawk Invitational (4/24/10) as well and was on the winning 4x400m relay team (3:59.28) ... also ran the 4x100m relay at the All-Ohio Championships (4/17/10) as the team finished fifth (48.27). High School: Competed in the 800m and 1600m in track and also ran cross country for four years, some at Manitoulin Secondary School in Ontario and some at Lakeview High School ... recorded a personal best of 2:19 in the 800m, which is a school record ... also helped set school record in the 4x400m relay ... was the NSSSA champion in the 800m and the mile ... named all-conference in track from 2004-06 and earned All-Ontario honors in cross country ... helped track team to a pair of district championships at Lakeview ... also competed two years in gymnastics, serving as team captain, and played a year of basketball.
Personal: Born in July of 1989 ... daughter of Mary and Steve Scannell ... majoring in physical education and health education ... was president of student council and 2008 class president in high school.
