Eaton Off to Hot Start in Double-A

MOBILE, Ala. -- Former Miami Baseball star Adam Eaton continues to climb in professional baseball career, earning a promotion to Double-A earlier this monoth. The Arizona Diamondbacks prospect was called up to Mobile (Ala.) of the Southern League on July 1 after starting the year at Advanced-A Visalia (Calif.).
Eaton immediately showed he belonged at the new level, hitting the first pitch he saw in a BayBears uniform into centerfield for a single. Since then, he is batting .366 with 15 hits in 41 at-bats. He has hit safely in eight of his 10 games, including seven straight. Eaton had had three hits on three occasions and a pair once. He homered once (vs. the Mississippi Braves on July 9) and has driven in 12 runs. He also registed a stolen base and a .537 slugging percentage.
Prior to being called up, Eaton batted .332 in 65 games with the Oaks. He had six home runs and 39 runs batted in. He was also successful on 24 of 32 stolen-base attempts.
