Miami plays its final conference home series of the 2011 season this weekend when it hosts Buffalo. A total of 10 RedHawks -- nine players and the team's manager -- will be honored prior to Sunday's game.
Start times are 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The RedHawks have won 10 of their last 13 games to stand 28-21 overall and 14-7 in league play. The win total already equals last year's final tally.
Miami split a mid-week series with Cincinnati on Tuesday and Wednesday, each team winning at home. The Bearcats were 9-6 winners in the opener, while the RedHawks responded with a 10-6 victory.
Jon Edgington has been on fire lately, batting .600 (12 of 20) over the last five games. He has taken over the team lead with a .315 average. Kyle Weldon stands second in both average (.311) and RBIs (38) while hitting a club-high eight home runs.
As a team, Miami is hitting .273 with 26 home runs.
On the mound, the RedHawks have a 3.24 team ERA. The three weekend starters have combined for 15 of Miami's wins and a 3.07 ERA.
Sophomore right-hander Mac Thoreson (4-3) will start the opener with senior lefty Tyler Melling (6-2) heading to the mound on Saturday. Sophomore Brooks Fiala (5-4) will likely finish the series for the RedHawks.
Buffalo (12-32, 2-18) is coming off a split with LeMoyne on Monday. The Bulls dropped two of three to Ohio last weekend.
