Men's Swimmers Open Season

OXFORD, Ohio -- Head Coach Pete Lindsay takes his 27th Miami University men's swimming and diving team to Carbondale on Saturday (Oct. 8) for a double-dual meet against host Southern Illinois and Evansville. The first event begins at 10 a.m.

Miami's veteran coach has guided the RedHawks to three Mid-American Conference titles since 1985.

An outstanding group of veterans lead Miami in 2011-12, including two-time defending MAC Diver of the Year JIM BERES (Columbus). Others with extensive experience include senior backstroke and freestyle specialist Chris Gunnels (Chapel Hill, NC), senior distance swimmer Brendan Melling (Solon), senior freestyle and IM specialist TOM TILLY (Rochester Hills, MI) and junior butterfly and distance freestyler Alex Reinhardt (Littleton, CO).

Miami's first meet at home will be Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. vs. Xavier.
