Senior forward Nick Winbush tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He also had a season high three blocks.
Junior forward Julian Mavunga led the team in scoring for the fourth time this season with 17 points. Mavunga was near perfect from the field, hitting 7-of-8 field goals, including going 1-for-1 from 3-point range. He also grabbed six boards and had three blocked shots.
Miami got off to a slow start from the field at the beginning of the game, but came back to finish the first half shooting .481. The RedHawks were on fire in the second half, shooting 62.5 percent to finish the night with a season high .549 field-goal percentage, the first time they have shot over 50 percent this season.
Thanks to Miami's largest victory margin of the season (19 points), Head Coach Charlie Coles was able to use all 13 of the players on his roster for only the second time this season.
After trailing 9-2 to start the evening, the RedHawks went on a 9-0 run (15:40 to 13:46). Miami took the lead for good at the 2:29 mark of the first half off a 3-pointer by senior forward Nick Winbush amidst a 12-4 run to close out the half. Miami started the second half with a 29-11 run and outscored the Cardinals 43-30 in the second frame.
Sophomore Orlando Williams' four assists were a career high for the RedHawk guard.
Freshman guard Quinten Rollins amassed a season-high five steals, the most by a RedHawk this season.
Miami scored 40 of its 76 points in the paint against the Cardinals.
