OXFORD, Ohio -- Megan Brunn won three individual events and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay to lead Miami's women's swimming team past Eastern Michigan, 193.5 to 95.5.
The senior from Mansfield swam the second leg of the winning 200 medley relay, then captured victories in the 100 (1:04.71) and 200 breaststroke (2:18.03) and the 400 IM (4:27.76) as Miami won for the third straight meet and improved its dual meet record to 3-1.
Other big winners were sophomore Bekka Westrick (Fairfield) who took the 50 (23.85) and 100 freestyle events (52.38) and was a member of two winning relay teams.
Sophomore Leah Thornton (Helena, AL) won both the 100 (57.87) and 200 backstroke events (2:05.63) and swam on one of the first-place relay teams.
Sophomore butterflyer Maegan O'Connor (Fishers, IN) touched the wall first in both the 100 fly (56.29) and the 200 fly (2:04.28).
Junior Chelsey Bruington (Mission Viejo, CA) won the 200 free (1:52.88) and swam the anchor leg on the 200 free relay.
Freshman Nikki Craft (Bay Village) was a double winner in diving, capturing both the one- and two-meter events.
"Megan Brunn did a great job today," said Head Coach Dave Jennings. "As a team, we've swam well the last two weekends. Everyone is working hard in practice. It's just a matter of getting a hand on the wall first in the meets."
