Green Bay entered the game coming off losses to San Diego State and Marquette in its first two games of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. With their only win prior to Sunday's game coming at Minnesota Duluth, the Phoenix' win over Miami was their first this year against a Division-I opponent.
The Phoenix jumped out to a 14-3 lead over the first 4:14 of the first half but Miami responded by outscoring Green Bay 27-11 over the rest of the period to give the RedHawks a 30-25 halftime advantage, their largest lead at the break so far this season. Green Bay responded with a 22-14 run to start the second half, propelling the Phoenix to a 69-65 win.
Redshirt freshman center Drew McGhee's jumper with 8:37 left in the first half put the RedHawks ahead 19-18, giving them their first lead of the night. McGhee finished the night with a career-high five points on 2-for-2 shooting in just eight minutes.
Green Bay guard Rahmon Fletcher scored a season-high 23 points in 32 minutes of action on 9-of-16 shooting. GB freshman center Alec Brown netted a career-high 11 points and Bryquis Perine also scored in double figures with 17 points.
Miami's first four field goals all came from beyond the arc, two of which were scored by sophomore guard Orlando Williams while the others came from senior forward Nick Winbush and freshman guard Quinten Rollins.
Green Bay grabbed seven of the game's first eight rebounds and entered halftime with 19 rebounds. Miami grabbed 11 first-half boards including only one offensive rebound. The Phoenix won the final board battle 32 - 23, including 12-7 on the offensive glass.

Senior guard/forward Antonio Ballard scored in double digits as well with 14 points and a team-high six boards. Sophomore guard Allen Roberts finished with a career-high and game-high five assists and also tied his career high with two steals.
